The High-Conversion Micro-Room
Your obsession with vanity metrics is distracting you from the cash-flow happening in small spaces.
A few months ago, I hosted an in-person Meet More Doers event in Chicago, and almost nobody showed up.
I was completely deflated. On my drive over, I was already running the post-mortem in my head: Better timing? More ad spend? Sexier topic?
But because the room was tiny, something unusual happened. The typical networking performance disappeared. Nobody felt the need to scan the room or rush through conversations to hand out fifteen business cards. They actually sat down and talked.
The Magic of the Low-Attendance Room
As I watched the room, I noticed two women talking to a founder who was casually explaining a problem he was solving. They weren’t trading corporate pitches; they were laughing over travel mishaps and food.
By the end of the night, those two women booked a discovery call with him. Shortly after, he signed them as high-paying clients.
The Myth: You need a massive audience, a viral post, or a packed auditorium to move the needle.
The Reality: High-converting relationships don’t happen on stages. They happen in the corners of the room when people drop the mask and become human.
Engineering Proximity, Not Volume
I saw the exact same phenomenon play out in our online Meet More Doers events. Instead of putting everyone on a giant, awkward Zoom call where one person speaks and everyone else mutes their cameras, we break everyone into tight, 2-person max breakout rooms.
The results? No pressure to perform. Just direct, one-on-one human translation. People leave those calls with collaborative partnerships, critical project feedback, and signed contracts.
The Micro-Connection Challenge: Stop trying to write for “the algorithm” today. Pick three specific people in your existing digital network whose work you actually respect. Send them a direct, no-pitch voice memo commenting on a specific point they made recently. Build a micro-bridge.
Get in the Room
Meet More Doers isn’t a media company or a place to passively consume more content. It’s a functional ecosystem where transactions and relationships actually happen.
I hosted an event where barely anyone showed up and felt like a failure. Then, a founder in that tiny room closed a premium client because they had the time to actually talk like humans. Stop obsessing over big rooms. Build micro-connections at Meet More Doers.
